By comparison, the new Volkswagen Atlas doesn't have much in the way of off-road features, making it more of an around-town SUV.
The Kia Telluride vs. the Toyota Highlander
- Horsepower: With up to 291 horsepower standard, the new Kia Telluride leaves the 265-horsepower Toyota Highlander in its rearview mirror.
- Third Row Space: The Toyota Highlander can seat up to eight passengers, but quarters are quite cramped in its rearmost seating positions. With less headroom and legroom than the Kia Telluride in the third row, only smaller children will be comfortable riding in the back in the new Toyota Highlander on longer drives.
- Safety: Both the new Kia Telluride and the Toyota Highlander have robust suites of safety technologies. However, it's worth noting that the 2024 Kia Telluride earned the Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS, while the new Toyota Highlander only earned a Top Safety Pick award for the same model year.
